Happy Halloween!!!

I love Halloween.  When I was a kid, I used to dream up my costume months in advance and change my mind about a million times before I finally came up with one.  When I was in college, I loved having costumes that represented pop culture: My favorite was the year I was "Ms. New Booty" Since becoming a mom, my Halloweens are joyous because of baking treats for my girls and their friends/teachers and planning their adorable costumes.  I also love being able to play Halloween games at work with all of my students.  Today we are "Skull Bowling"  and last week we made witches stew!!!!  Hopefully Madi and Avery enjoy today as much as I do!!!

Flip Flop

Oh how the Army likes to toy with me!  Apparently they do not think Jed's back is healed enough for him to go back to Infantry world, so they are releasing him from the Army.  This will take who knows how long, up to a year, but at least we get to stay in Kansas!  I can't begin to tell you how excited I am, just sick of the flip flop.  I've decided God is just telling me to stop trying to plan everything and ride it out.  Life is way more fun when you live in the moment, so that is what I am going to try to do.
My knee, actually my IT band, has been continuing to give me grief, so I am going to start seeing a physical therapist 1-2 times a week.  Hopefull I will still be able to run and complete my second half marathon in 3 1/2 weeks.
Made YUMMY chicken tortilla soup for dinner and it was the bomb!  (does anybody say that anymore?  i do)

Another Weekend Comes to An End...

This weekend was a success on all fronts!  We got to spend time with good friends on Friday night at Kathy's 21st birthday dinner, and I got to dance:)  I miss being able to go dancing!  To bad I didn't get Jed out on the floor with me.  Saturday was supposed to be my day to do absolutely nothing, and even though it didn't work out that way, it was a good day.  We went over to my parent's house to watch the KU game, disaster.  The game was pathetic, and everyone but me fell asleep.  I did make some yummy guac usuing my dad's homegrown peppers!!!  Then I went to a friends' baby shower.  When we got home, I made pumpkin french toast and BLT's minus the T.  I had turkey bacon, toast, and lettuce and it sounded really good so I didn't mind that we didn't have tomatos.  Today we had church and the sermon was wonderful.  It was about everything I've been struggling with and feeling lately in regards to prioritizing my family time and everything else. It's like Pastor Greg knew my whole situation.  It's amazing how God can use a sermon, or another persons story to speak to you in that way.  The best part of the weekend was my Chiefs kicking some booty, and some Raider booty no less.  Went for a run, and it didn't hurt too bad, so I think I'm safe to keep running. Also got groceries for the week, and got outfits set out for the girls and I for tomorrow.  After all that, I'm going to sit on the couch and watch a show with my hubby and call it a night!

Bleh...

So last night was not nearly as productive as I was hoping, but I'm okay with it.  We went to go see my mom at the hospital, she had her knee replaced on Monday.  After we got home and got our tired girls to bed, all I wanted to do was sleep myself.  I threw in a load of laundry only because I didn't have any clean bra's for today, watched a little How I Met Your Mother to help me wind down and went to sleep.  No work out, no devotions, and certainly no house work.  Instead of feeling defeated today, I feel rested.  So what if all of that stuff didn't get done.  It will still be there when I get home tonight, or tomorrow, or this weekend.

Make It Hurt So Good!

"Come on baby, make it hurt so good...sometimes muscles don't feel like they should!"  P90X is working me out alright.  They say the second day is the worst for being sore, and that statement holds true today.  My abs, chest, and back are TIGHT!  I'm actually enjoying the workouts though, so that's a plus.  I made a delicious dinner last night: Bowtie Pasta with Spinach and Sausage (see pictrue below).  And I got to tan and have my devotions.  I read Proverbs 18.  Here's to hoping this humpday is a success!!!!

Vitamin D Please:)

I made it through day 1.  Devotions did not happen in that fashion, but I spent quite a bit of time in prayer!  Today I WILL get them in.  The girls were pretty grumpy last night, but Madi and I read some books and had fun during bath time.  She likes to pretend it's raining when I poor water on her head.  Jed and I did day 1 of P90X and I survived.  It wasn't pretty, but it was much better than the last time I attempted it, 6 weeks after Avery was born.  I made dinner, chicken nuggets and salad, and pumpkin muffins from all the leftover pumpkin guts.  I really want to go tanning today, all this dreary weather and vitamin D deficiency have me down.  Catch you on the flipside.....

Day 1

Well, I've recently, LIKE LAST NIGHT, decided I'm insanely busy, and too busy.  Life IS a juggling act, but I've been throwing way too many balls up in the air and killing myself to catch them all.  So yesterday, I started cleansing my balls (hehe).  What I am left with is a manageable number of precious things I WANT to juggle, not HAVE to:
GOD
FAMILY
WORK
WORKING OUT and EATING RIGHT
FRIENDS

So, the next step is to make these things and these things only a priority and see where that takes me.  Your prayers and encouragement are wanted!  Look for fun things like my meal plans, Devotions, playtime with the girls, dates with the hubby, and workouts in days to come.
